Cora's Scooby Doo Birthday Party

Like Jinkies! Cora turned four. And there was a Scooby Doo mystery in store...

Setting the Stage:

Darn cat ATE part of the cake while it was cooling! What the ...???

The guests arrive and play a game of musical squares.

Suddenly, the game is interrupted by the appearance of the Diaper Demon! Every party has a "pooper," and this villain is determined to ruin Cora's birthday party. Thankfully, the kids have seen enough Scooby Doo episodes to know they have to look for clues to track this bad guy down.

"AAHH! The Diaper Demon!"

C'mon gang! Let's look for clues...

A trail of Demon Diaper Droppings is the first clue.

The kids bravely help pick up the clues.

The Diaper Droppings lead to more clues -- an empty peanut butter jar and tootsie roll wrappers. Hmmm... maybe the Diaper Demon isn't a dirty diaper after all. Just as the kids are closely investigating these clues, out pops the Diaper Demon out of the basement window! ZOINKS!!!!!!!!

And now everyone is laughing. Phew.

Next, the kids come upon a Diaper Demon Dummy.

Let's get him with water balloons!

Despite the *150* water balloons waiting to be thrown, Cora is fixated on finding the Diaper Demon and won't throw any more balloons.
Where could the Diaper Demon be?

Up in the window!!!!!!

We've got to set a trap to capture this Diaper Demon. 5 year old Jake bravely agreed to be the bait and lure the Demon to the trap.

Setting a toilet paper trap

(Grandma had a full time job keeping up with Liese)

Here he comes!

Got him!

Unmask that man!

Cora truly had NO idea this was her dad in disguise. We forget how literal 4 year olds are.

Cora is still thinking this whole thing through.

She's still not sure...

A hesitant hug for Daddy

And a huge hug for Uncle Tom

Time for snacks

And cake!

We also had a photo booth.

Jenna and Jakob

Lizzie and Samantha

Grandma and her girls

Liese got the idea

THANK YOU Aunt Laura for taking all the photos and THANK YOU Grandma for all of your help setting up for the party and taking care of Liese during the festivities.
