The Luckiest Kid Alive or Meet Lynx

Since Zad died and Waggin left, our house has felt too empty. Although we still have Zoe, she doesn't interact with anyone but me at this point in her life. Zoe will be 14 in October, and she was diagnosed with cancer in July. It didn't look good. She had stopped eating. The vet gave her a steroid shot and up to 3 weeks to live. The shot seems to have perked her up, because we're on week 6 and she's eating well. However, I know she doesn't feel well. She hides out in our linen closet most of the day and her tumor has grown from golf ball size to hockey puck size. It's a wait, watch and enjoy her good days kind of phase...

The idea of loosing 3 pets in a year has been staggering, and our family wants a 4-legged friend we can enjoy. So, Chris and I decided our birthday gift to Cora would be a kitten. When we told Cora she was so happy she started kissing her fingers and pointing them to the heavens, "just like the Cardinals do when they hit a home run and want to thank God." On our way home from Grandma and Grandpa's house we went to an animal shelter, and Cora picked out her very own kitten.

His name is Lynx, and he is a GREAT cat. He's 3 months old, and hs eased into the home without problems. He loves Cora and follows her around. He lets her hold him like a baby doll. He's a super affecionate, playful little guy. Zoe has adjusted well to him, too. She still hisses at him when he wants to play with her, but she'll be in the same room as him now. So, without further ado, meet Lynx.
