The 2014 "Polar Vortex" hit Jacksonville with a vengeance. For four days, we were pummeled with snow and FRIGID temperatures. Highs in the negatives and lows 15-20 below with windchills in the negative forties! It was awful.
Thankfully, there was a Star Wars marathon on t.v. After the girls starting acting out scenes with Annaliese as Chewbaca, we knew they needed to go play outside. They made it for15 minutes.

Then people napped...
On the third day, our heat went out. We woke up to it being 48 degrees -- in our house!! Our upstairs stays nice and warm, so we didn't notice how cold it had gotten over night. The Texan in me panicked. I pictured scenes from A Little Match Girl. Thankfully, Chris kept a cool head, brought us a space heater and had the girls and me hole up in our bedroom while he waited for the repair guy. It was an easy fix (thank you, God!), but it took several hours for the house to warm back up.
How many more days till spring???
