Southern Circuit, Part II.

After leaving Memphis, we drove to Texas. At Grandma and Grandpa's house in Sachse where Grandma pulled out some of Aunt Ann-Renee's vintage My Little Ponies and their castle, stable and ballet school. Cora was in heaven! She slept with the ponies every night and became so attached to them that Grandma let her take them home. They're a favorite toy, just as they were for her aunt.

We also had two great days of visiting with Grandpa Bri and Papa Pat. Grandpa Bri treated the girls to lunch at the Highland Park Pharmacy and Soda Fountain.

And we went swimming in their lovely pool

Grandpa Bri and Chris helped Cora ease into swimming. She was afraid and unsure at first, but by the end of the second day she was doing much better.

Liese, on the other hand, was fearless! She took to the water like a  little fish. Uncle Bill rightly started calling her a little tuna.

No trip to Texas would be complete without a visit with friends. I was so delighted to spend time with Laura, Hillary and their precious kiddos. Hard to believe our last group photo 2 years ago included several fewer children!

Jackson was so bummed by the girl-focused activities. If only the girls would have played a game of tag or let him use his super-powers to rescue them, but he was trumped by ponies. So, Chris has captioned this photo, "Jackson barking up the wrong tree." :-D
Jackson, it was WONDERFUL to see you! I think you are a GREAT kid! Next time, we'll bring Nerf guns. Promise!
